Porsche Intelligent Performance - hybrid

Porsche is working hard not only to further development of hybrid drive, which is already in serial production. In accordance with the further development of strategies Porsche Intelligent Performance is about to test the developmental patterns based on the Porsche Boxster driven only by electric drive. The aim is to achieve further efficiency gains while reducing fuel consumption and emissions.

New test verifies the electric motor cars Porsche in practice in the Stuttgart Region. Trio of electric vehicles in the Boxster will test first important experience with the functioning of electric components and battery system in a purely electricity powered car.

Start of trial operation, which provides not only information on the requirements dose to the car itself, but also the necessary infrastructure electromobility called for, or perhaps the statistics about the behavior of car drivers mobiles on the electric motor, is scheduled for early 2011.
Porsche has long been known as an active supporter of the electromobility, which contributes to environmental protection. Moreover, as otherwise seen on 918 Spyder concept car with a high power motor middle and hybrid drive, which connects the world of top technology, sports cars and completely fascinating in electromobility. And the result?
The proof is that a super sports car with the performance over 600 kW has fuel consumption only 3L/100 km and emits CO2 of just 70 g/km, which otherwise reach only some of the cars Super Mini. Another example is the hybrid drive system models 911 GT3 R Hybrid, which was designed specifically for use in racing car. The six-cylinder engine with 480 kW power in this car supported by a pair of electric motors with 60 kW, intended for front wheel drive. Instead of the standard battery uses an electric flywheel energy, which save kinetic energy during braking
Surprising results of the model 911 GT3 R Hybrid Endurance at the 24 Hours Nürburgring clearly expressed its practical application. The first serial hybrid Porsche hiding in the model Cayenne Hybrid, which can also be a purely electric drive. With a total capacity of 380 to the Cayenne Hybrid has a combined consumption only 8.2 l/100 km, which corresponds to CO2 emissions in of just 193 g/km. This hybrid technology will also be used the Panamera Hybrid model, which comes on the market next year.
